Question |
What is the difference between sealcoating products? |
| |
|
|
| |
Answer |
All sealcoat products in this area of the country are water based colloidal dispersions. That means that the product molecules are dispersed among the water molecules. As the water evaporates, it leaves behind the product molecules to form a protective coating. The difference in products is the number of product molecules in relation to the water molecules. The more product molecules, the better the final coating. The "Jennite" patented formula has more product molecules than other competing products, so the coating is more resilient and longer lasting. |

Question |
| Does sealcoating protect against oil and gas spills? |
|
| |
|
|
| |
Answer |
Because asphalt is a petroleum product, oil and gas will act as a solvent and soften asphalt. As a barrier, Sealcoating is resistant to oil and gas spills if the spill is cleaned in a short period. No product will protect for an extended period. |
